Welcome
It has been that way — periods of lounging in too great comfort at home, interspersed with periods on the road — since I first stepped off the Dover-Calais Ferry as a very wet-behind-the-ears 16-year old with two bags, from which I would be separated only a week later.
This website is the story of my latest trip, a cycling one starting in Prudhoe Bay on the Arctic Ocean in Alaska and several journals of previous trips going all the way back to that ill-fated trip into France in the summer of 1985.
